The 911 GT1 EVO 98 was designed by Porsche to compete in the GT1 category in 1998, in the 24 hours of Le Mans and in the FIA GT international championship. At first, the cars of the GT1 class were Grand Touring cars modified for the competitions, but in recent years they became similar to the racing prototypes. The Porsche GT1 98 was a new car, the first built by Porsche with a monocoque chassis composed of carbon. Comes equipped with 18 wheels, carbon brake discs and double rear fork suspensions with front push bar The engine was a six cylinder, 3.2 liter twin turbo, cylinder head 4 valves per cylinder, water cooled, with a maximum torque of 630 Nm at 5,000 rpm and a maximum power of 550 hp at 7,200 rpm. The gearbox was six-speed sequential with triple-disc carbon fiber clutch. The capacity of the fuel tank was 100 liters. In 1998, the FIA GT championship was dominated by Mercedes but Porsche won the Le Mans 24 Hours. Mercedes and Toyota were faster in the individual laps, but Zuffenhausen's cars were able to finish first and second, thanks to their greater reliability. The model reproduced corresponds to the one driven by the pilots Allan McNish and Yannick Dalmas.
