Without the need for introduction, Peter "Perfect" Brock is a name synonymous with both Holden and Bathurst.

In 1978 Brock put his Torana on pole, and then finished first. Co-driven by Jim Richards, the Holden proved to be more than a rival for the Fords in the race, with Brock beating the second car, also a Holden for a lap and the Ford closest to 3 laps.
