On 31 December 2000, the 1000 year Race, valid for the Le Mans LMP Series was held at the Adelaide circuit. Audi participated with a LMP painted with a special decoration of crocodile as homage to Australia. The race lasted 850 km instead of 1000, and was won by audi n 77 piloted by Rinaldo Capello and Allan Mcnish.
