The Aston Martin dbr1-2 was equipped with the same engine used by the aston martin dbr9 gt1, which with the extended limiting flanges allowed by the category lmp1 for the engines derived from series gave 660 hp. The power unit is entirely made of aluminum, with a displacement of 5,935 cm³ and atmospheric power.
The chassis is a carbon fiber case designed and manufactured by Lola and adapted by prodrive and Aston Martin, which, in addition to the components, modified the aerodynamics and body line, according to their own technical needs and of marketing. The aesthetic of the car recalls slightly to that of the street Aston Martin.
The car n. 22 participated in the 24 hours of mansion in 2011, piloted by V. Ickx, M. Martin and B. Leinders.
